Kissidougou ended up being nothing more but a place to put the head down for the night. The city is quite dirty and has an uninviting touch to it. Maybe that is our impression because we arrived tired and a little soaked having been in the rain all day.
Either way, the weather the next day was much better. Winding our way up to Mamou we enjoyed the serpentines of the 330 km route and the spectacular scenery to the full. The temperatures in the area are also a lot cooler which was a nice break from the usual heat and sweating.

Yeah... why not all pick the same tree (because there are no others for miles?!) |
Slowly leaving the Forest region and getting into the Fouta Djalon |
We spotted a good few of these brickworks (oven) in all sizes along the way |
Not sure if you can spot the sheep in the background to give you an idea of this impressive tree |
A typical food stall in one of the villages where we stopped for lunch |
The take-away option comes in an appetising plastic bag :) |
Beans, Spaghetti, fresh onions, a dash of vegetable oil, a spoon of mayonnaise and fresh baguette |
Very tasty! Believe it, or not. |
They look like mushrooms and we even spotted entire fields full of them. They are built out of dirt by termites or similar though. Cool! |
Typical housing |
Nice motor :) |
